Hello!! I am John Cornwell, born and raised in the great state of Texas, specifically San Antonio!!! I graduated from Winston Churchill HS in 2003 where I also competed in football and track for four years (NEISD PROUD!).
After High School I went on to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX where I played Football but after only 1 year, I felt a call to come back home and realign my priorities with school, family and work. I began attending the local college, working full-time and eventually met my future wife Amy. Funny how life works! You could say that the rest is history! (literally) I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010.
After 7 years of being full-time in the business world and working with youth groups for numerous churches in the San Antonio area on a part-time basis I knew I wanted to take my real world experiences, education, and passion for young people and make teaching/coaching a full time profession. My belief is that a well rounded education and support from parents and the community does pave the way for a better and brighter future! History is not just an academic study, but the study of ones self. After all, we are truly writing our stories everyday we live! History is rich and full of life and it is my desire to share that with your child. We can all learn something everyday from history.
When I am not teaching or coaching, I enjoy being with my lovely wife Amy and our four beautiful kids! Colton 10, Adalynn 7, Trueman 5, and Gwen (5 months). Amy owns a Christmas decorating company called "TrendyScapes" she is super talented at decorating, hosting, and all things crafty!
I am so fortunate to be here at Bush Middle School and to be surrounded by such a great community of parents, teachers, and administrators. This is going to be a great year at Bush MS!
